Beck

Beck - Loser

Beck, his full name being Beck David Hansen, is an American alternative and indie rock musician. Beck is originally from Los Angeles, California but moved to New York City in 1989 where he began performing in various small venues like coffee shops and bars. Beck’s music ranges from rock, to hip hop to folk music and he has released albums based in several musical genres. Fun fact: Beck’s father is David Campbell, a renowned conductor and composer, who’s worked on award winning albums from artists like Justin Timberlake, Evanescence and Linkin Park.

Beck’s surge in popularity came in 1994 with the release of “Loser” single, from his Mellow Gold album. The song received tons of radio airplay, and still does. The music video for the track also received a lot of play on MTV through the 1990’s. Beck continues to release music every few years, with his latest album Hyperspace, released in 2019. The Retro plays Beck on full rotation.
