Guns N’ Roses just released a new song today called “Hard Skool”. Apparently, the song belonged on their 6th studio album- you know the one, Chinese Democracy! How is it after all these years Axl still has us talking about that album?? Keep in mind, it was released on November 23rd, 2008. And Mr. Rose has talked about and promoted Chinese Democracy, and dragged on the eventual release of the album, since 1997! That’s almost a quarter century dedicated to Guns N Roses’ worst album ever, according to many hard rock fans.
And now here we are in 2021 STILL talking about songs intended for Chinese Democracy! I think the way Axl Rose handled the album from the very beginning is just an euphemism for the grim outlook of democracy in communist China. It’ll get talked about for years, but it ain’t ever gonna amount to anything!
